The Move the Halloween to Saturday petition didn't get enough signatures for a White House response

It’s such a shame that the “Move Halloween to Saturday” petition didn’t get enough signatures for a White House response.

December 1, 2016, was the deadline to get the 100,000 petitions needed in order to get a response from the White House.

There were only 2,026 signatures, which is 97,974 signatures short. The petition was started by a J.K. on November 1, 2016.

Yes, I know, that’s a day after Halloween. It is also a weekday, Tuesday to be exact, which means Halloween fell on a Monday.

And for J.K., this is the problem. J.K. wrote, “Ever try to wake a child up for school on November 1 after a night of trick or treating and gorging on candy? Not pretty. Why not move Halloween to the last Saturday in October in much the way Thanksgiving is the last Thursday in November?”

J.K. does have a point that it will be better for the parents, as well as the little kiddies, to have the little candy munchers all strung out on candy over the weekend and not the weekday.

That way, everyone can safely get over their Halloween candy hang over.
